A Message From...

Mrs. Margello

My name is Jean (Breitfelder) Margello. I have been at St. Vivian School since October, 1977. Most of my time was spent teaching first grade. I have also taught 3rd and 6th grades at St. Vivian. I taught grades 2 and 3 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart in Reading, where I began my teaching career. This is my sixth year as principal.

I am a  graduate of Mt. Notre Dame High School, Edgecliff College and Xavier University.

I am the wife of Frank Margello, and the mother of Alison, Melissa Walters and Amanda Margello. Frank is principal of Hamilton Badin High School. Amanda, the youngest just graduated from Xavier University.

My hobbies include reading, traveling, and watching Survivor. I really enjoy school and working with students and parents. When I was a teacher, I was never ready for school to end. Now that I work eleven months a year, I do look forward to summer vacation!

ANNOUNCEMENTS

The start of the 2008/2009 school is quickly approaching! We have completed hiring of staff, ordering supplies and are in the process of cleaning the buildings from top to bottom. Even though teachers and students are not here, summer is a busy time for a school!

New teachers have been hired for junior high, art, music and Spanish. Miss Erin DeLaney will teach grades 7&8 math, algebra and grade 8 religion. Mrs. Jill Uhler will teach art. Miss Amy Clark will teach music. Sr. Deborah Lloyd, OSU (Sr. Debbie) will teach an introduction to Spanish class to grades 6, 7 & 8. Each teacher is very qualified in their field, and certified in their subject area. They are very enthusiastic and looking forward to teaching our students!

We have been able to purchase 5 Smart Boards and carts for the classrooms with funds from the Technology Fund. With the 4 we have, this means that each teacher in grades 6,7&8 will be using this technology in teaching. In addition, one teacher in grades 3,4&5 will also be using one in class. The Technology Fund is supported by Box Tops in Education, Papa John's monthly St Vivian Night and any other funds donated to the school.  It really benefits the students to support these "no cost to you" fundraisers!
