A Message From...
Ms. Kalla

Hello! My name is Miss Kalla and this is my second year teaching here at St. Vivian. I'm a graduate of Xavier University with my Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. I just this past school year passed my Praxis examination by the state and have reveived my permanent five-year teaching license. A Cincinnati native, I attended St. Bart's for grade school and Roger Bacon for high school. Some of my family live in Cincinnati as well. My parents are both retired (my dad used to work for P&G and my mom was once a teacher too). I have a sister and a brother, both married and with kids (2 nieces, 2 nephews in total). I am an avid music enthusiast. However, teaching is my true passion. Here at St. Vivian, I teach 2nd grade Language Arts (Reading, Writing/Grammar, Phonics & Spelling).

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Welcome to Room 120!

This page will keep you up-to-date on our homeroom and all second grade reading and language arts information. Thanks for visiting the website!

School day is 7:30a.m. - 2:15p.m.

HAVE A SUPER, SAFE AND BOOK-FILLED SUMMER!

A never-ending "Thank You" goes out to Clawfoot Supply
(the company that DONATED our "Reading Tub")!

*Please remember to send your child to school with a snack for morning recess time. 3 and 1/2 hours is a long time to go without food and we want to keep our brains energized on task here in 2nd grade.

HOMEWORK

Daily Homework will be recorded in the student planbook. Homework will be marked with an H with a circle around it to indicate the assignments that are to be completed and returned the next school day.
The Red Folder will be marked for each teacher's homework to be returned to school. One side will be for Hendricks, the other side for Kalla. All Homework should be completed and returned in the Red Folder each day to be prepared for school.
Any paper marked with an H with a circle around it is Homework. This is marked in the same way in the student planbook for Homework assignments.
*Please be sure papers have not been lingering in your child's folder for an extended period of time. The more papers left inside of it, the more likely it is to tear. We are hoping to keep our current red folders until the end of each quarter so we have to take care of them. Clean out red folders!
