| > | Every student should bring home THE STUDENT PLANBOOK AND RED FOLDER nightly. Please check for HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS/PAPERS to be completed.
Note on Homework/Take Home Papers:
Daily Homework will be recorded in the student planbook. Homework will be marked with an H with a circle around it to indicate the assignments that are to be completed and returned the next school day. The Red Folder will be marked for each teacher's homework to be returned to school. One side will be for Hendricks, the other side for Kalla. Any paper marked with an H with a circle around it is Homework. **It is very important to check the Student Planbook each day/night for the class assignments that are to be completed.
MATH: *FLASHCARDS ADDITION/SUBTRACTION PRACTICE*
**Math Nightly Review should be 10/15mins. for the addition and subtraction facts up to 18. It is very important to have a set of flashcards at home to do a nightly review with your child. The faster she/he knows their facts, the better they will be with mental math. This will also help with their math classwork. Practice, Practice,10/15 MINS. each night. You can also use the websites the teacher sent home during the quarter to help with many math areas. (or click on links)
*Note: If you do not have flashcards that go up to 18 then use 3x5 notes cards to make sets or cut out pieces of paper to create the flaschcards.
*Idea: Use a set of regular playing cards to review Math facts, shuffle, deal out 2 cards to each player, flip the cards, then say "add or subtract", then increase to deal each player 3, 4, or as many cards as you can do. *You can also use a set of dice and apply the same set of rules. If practicing the higher number digits then, roll two dice at a time (4total) and then add or subtract.
