A Message From...
Ms. Heckle

Hi! My name is Mary Joan Heckle. I am the half day Kindergarten teacher and I have been teaching Kindergarten at St. Vivian for twelve years. I have also taught fifth, third and fourth grades at St. Vivian. I am married and have two children who attended Kindergarten through eighth grade at St. Vivian School. I am a life-long resident of Cincinnati and I spend my summers in Alaska with my family.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
3-9-10 We continue working on short vowel sounds in the middle of 3-4 letter words and the beginning and ending sounds of pictures or words. We are doing lots of decoding or blending letter sounds to learn new words and we are practicing our reading skills with easy readers. Each child will need an empty cereal box (or similar size box) to hold a few reading supplies here at school. Please send one in as soon as possible. Remember, anyone who wants to create a Leprechaun house should bring it to school on Monday or Tuesday (March 15th or 16th). In Math, we are practicing our estimating skills and working with two digit numbers to 50. Most of the students can count by 5s and 10s to 120! We will begin addition tomorrow and we will be working on phone numbers and addresses very soon. Our snack helpers this week are:Wednesday is Emily, Thursday is Emma, and Friday is Andrew.
