A Message From...
Ms. Heckle

Hi! My name is Mary Joan Heckle. I am the half day Kindergarten teacher and I have been teaching Kindergarten at St. Vivian for twelve years. I have also taught fifth, third and fourth grades at St. Vivian. I am married and have two children who attended Kindergarten through eighth grade at St. Vivian School. I am a life-long resident of Cincinnati and I spend my summers in Alaska with my family.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
3-15-10 This week in Reading/Language, we are working on reading short, easy-readers, short vowel sounds in the middle of a three or four letter word, and decoding (sounding out) three and four letter words. We continue our practice with rhyming words and number words. We are also sharing ideas and predictions with partners to increase our comprehension of stories read to the class. In Math, we are adding single digit numbers with sums to 15. Along with the addition concept, we are learning about 3 dimensional shapes. (sphere, cube, rectangular prism, cone) Everyone brought a Leprechaun house to school and we are anxious to see if we get any little visitors tonight! I think it might be a very CRAZY Wednesday! And...we do have Mass and Music tomorrow. We celebrated Joey's birthday on Monday and Ellie's birthday on Tuesday. Snack helpers for the rest of the week are: Wednesday is Cammy, Thurdsday is Donna and Friday the students are off school due to a Teacher's In-Service. 3-17-10 Today we came into the classroom to find lots of treats left by the leprechauns. It was a great day and the children were very surprised and excited! Thanks for your help in making it so special. Tomorrow, Thursday, is an out of uniform day for the students as a reward for their generosity with the donations for Haiti. They should wear something with green on it, if possible.
